Update On Tara Reade Legacy Of Lies

Evening everyone. We are sorry for the delay but a few Real Life issues have come about for us bloggers. First one of us is in the hospital very seriously ill with coronavirus. That individual's prognosis is not good and we are praying for her. Second a blog member whose name was on the first part received a threatening comment which was turned over to the police. That person is still deciding whether they wish to continue with writing.

Thirdly the son of a third blogger suffered a severe allergic reaction after being stung by a bee. So we are all quite occupied at present. The second part of the Tara Reade Legacy of Lies blog post is being written presently and will be up in a couple of days. We appreciate your patience and hope it will be worth your wait. Thank you once again for all of the interest and commentary. We are greatly pleased by the reaction our posting has received.

Sorry to hear about the difficulties facing your team. Please know that you all are doing a great service for our country and your reporting has helped voters see evidence first hand that proves Tara Reade is a serial scammer with only one mission to help Putin's rapey puppet and tarnish Joe Biden's moral high ground.

I wish your staff a full, speedy recovery and I hope law enforcement tracks down the coward who threatened your colleague.

Thank you for the update. We are all looking forward to the next installment. I'm sorry the authors are dealing with so many challenges right now. Keep up the good work.
I hope the police are able to identify the bully.

Something that occurred to me, although not directly related to the accusation against Biden, is that Reade's story about her flight from her supposedly abusive ex- is full of false claims about her ex. From the family court documents that we have seen, rather than there being a long pattern of serious abuse there were occasional incidents of what appear to be mutual violence and it looks like only one incident that resulted in criminal charges, and I see no report of injuries. Reade claimed that her ex's parental rights were terminated, but it appears instead that he had a period of supervised visitation as an apparent result of the domestic violence charge. She claims that he effectively stalked her from state to state, using stories of her need to flee as a basis to get people to give her special deals or money, but I have seen no support for the idea that her ex- made or posed any threat to her after their divorce. To the contrary, it appears that he was extremely wary about being alone with her, lest she initiate a conflict. It also appears that she was desperate to reunify, even as he had decided to move on. Reade's claim that he was a person of interest in at least two homicides seems to have been a complete fabrication.

The relevance to Biden's case is that if Reade is willing to make accusations of that nature about her ex-, exaggerating a mutually physical relationship and single domestic violence charge into a pattern of the worst forms of abuse, falsely claiming that her ex's rights were terminated due to that violence, falsely claiming for years that she was running from his having tracked her down to threaten, intimidate, perhaps even stalk her, claiming that he was a murder suspect and suggesting that he might be a serial killer, then she's the sort who would make that sort of false accusation -- serious, false accusations of criminal activity -- against others.

Oh Aaron, my heart goes out to all of you. A bad covid prognosis is a fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy; let's hope she has some way to receive the love and support that we all deserve in that horrible situation.

As for the blogger receiving death threats? Most of your bloggers are anonymous, so I'd suggest changing their handle and proxying their IP after announcing they're no longer doing this. There are ways to contribute to an effort like this without lending a narrative voice that might be identified. And bless you, too, Aaron, for having the steel pair to post this stuff under what I'm assuming is your own name. If it isn't, more power to you anyway. I'm a big believer in anonymity when tackling subjects that can bring out hatemongers.

Anaphylactic shock is no picnic, either. Sheesh. Best of luck to his recovery.

And please take all the time you need to dot the i's and cross the t's. We're with you all the way.

Thanks for the update. I'm so sorry to hear about the frightening issues you are all experiencing. I'm especially sorry about the blogger who is so ill with COVID-19. You've got the right priorities. Thanks for doing what you've done.

God. I'm so sorry you and your colleagues have suffered such misfortune. As I watch Reade's story crumble, I KNOW you did a LOT of the legwork. If you don't get the credit for all the research and time you expended on the story, there is no justice in the world. America is lucky to have such dedicated analysts. We are all rooting for you!

Thank you to everyone for the support. We appreciate it greatly. Our friend is better today and we are hopeful. Our threatened writer is older and this gave her quite the scare but she is defiant and wants to continue. Expect a new posting very soon. A day or so.

>>> Our threatened writer is older and this gave her quite the scare but she is defiant and wants to continue. <<<

That makes me very happy, Aaron. I used to moderate an IRC philosophy channel, and as someone who was doxxed, fought off botnet troll swarms and had to change my IP because of DDoS attacks on my own computer for having the temerity to dis Ayn Rand as a philosopher and ban racists, I feel her pain in a big way. Professional journalists are used to online abuse and have strategies to cope with the worst of it, but it's something different when you're an amateur sleuth on a blog. Again, she can shield her IP and her identity. I'd recommend reaching out to professional journalists for advice, maybe Natasha Korecki who wrote the Politico piece and apparently has used some of the same primary sources you guys did.

Speaking of Korecki's piece:

>>> Wigdor argued that Reade’s favorable comments about Biden are no different than how some of Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein’s accusers continued to have contact with him even after they said he abused them. <<<

Gaslighting always starts with a false equivalence. Weinstein had a massive abuser fact pattern and an army of professional defenders; Stockholm syndrome is indeed not uncommon in situations like that. Biden had defenders, but also had an army of professional *detractors* who could have shredded the Obama ticket on this if there was anything like an abuser fact pattern. Stockholm syndrome hardly explains it, especially when she pulled her BPD idealization / devaluation 180° in the Putin piece, which attempted to repudiate Biden's worldview.

>>> “If the assertion is that someone who has lied to their landlord because they don’t have the money to pay rent so then they lied about a sexual assault, I don’t think that is fair journalism,” <<<

What's unfair journalism is to elide the context. Nobody thinks "Reade" having money problems is the issue per se; a lot of us have had them. The issue is Reade remorselessly grifting off of people to deal with her money problems, which is a terrible mark on her character and the predicate for a strong belief that she'd grift off of fake abuse by Joe Biden.

>>> “To this day, Biden has not accounted for his actions other than to say ‘it never happened.’ Biden will not even consent to a review of his records housed at the University of Delaware. Ms. Reade, on the other hand, has answered hundreds of questions and did a sit down hour-long interview with Megyn Kelly,” <<<

If it never happened, to say "it never happened" is an accounting. Otherwise, you're in the impossible situation of trying to prove a negative (lawyer Wigdor knows this full well). Nothing a Trump supporter like Wigdor would love more than an unprecedented fishing expedition into Biden's private Senate records which are always released after leaving public life. Open that can of worms and where does it stop? Reade's allegation is just not credible enough at face to license such an egregious violation of Senate precedent.

>>> “Now, she is being asked to account for prior landlord tenant disputes. Enough is enough. This degrading and irrelevant inquisition does not advance the conversation. Instead, it explains why so many women suffer in silence — for fear of having their life turned upside down and questioned.” <<<

More gaslighting, and disgustingly low at that. It is an affront to sexual abuse victims to equate them with a grifter who remorselessly lies about her finances, leaving a trail of good Samaritans who feel used and discarded after working in good faith to cut her slack, while claiming the mantle of victimhood for herself.

Be Aware:
If you copy this url into a comment on a thread that requires face book log in you may get your account suspended.

I was on Politico last night and in response to someone wanting more info I posted this site's URL.

Facebook has now disabled that account.
I wonder if Reade's lawyers have gotten to FB
