How To Spot A Con-Artist
Sadly it seems with the most infamous internet troll and snake oil salesman of all time being elected President, came the rise of the digital pan handler and con-artist. They slithered forth leaving slime trails all across the internet.
Recently, and very tragically, the news media shared the story of two police officers that responded to a 911 call and were ambushed and killed in the line of duty. They left families, friends and children behind. The loss is reverberating through their entire community. And just like clockwork, from under the darkest, dankest rocks, slithered internet con-artists, setting up fake GoFundMe pages trying to capitalize off these tragic deaths. Such is the sad ass, disgusting life of a con-artist.
Most people are pretty savvy, so the con-artists have had to step up their game. They focus their efforts on loving, conscientious and devoted people like animal lovers. People they know can’t abide the suffering of an animal and legitimately want to help. They see these wonderful, caring people, and their very close knit communities as easy targets. They infiltrate their ranks, even start FB and other groups to blend in. Then, the tragedies and pleas for money start and keep coming.
For those that don’t know, here’s 10 ways that’ll help you spot these morally bankrupt pieces of shit in people clothes.
1) Tragedy seems to dog and stalk them like Donald Trump stalks beauty pageant dressing rooms.
2) Everybody has problems, but they always have problems that only money can fix.
3) Somebody they know, care for or live with are always on the verge of death and in desperate need of surgeries and medication.
4) They are DESPERATE for money, but not desperate enough to work for money.
5) In this modern age, there’s always some excuse as to why they need to get cash only; mainly because credit card fraud is hard but pretty easy to prove.
6) They have the most raggedy car outside of a junk yard, that’s always on its last legs and in dire need of repairs.
7) They’re always lamenting how broke they are, yet despite their lives being a non-stop horror show, always manage to scrape enough money together to pay that all important and money making internet bill.
8) No matter how much financial assistance their internet “friends” provide, it’s never enough. Their tragedies get bigger and come one right after the other.
9) They never have just one page for their digital pan handling. They have multiple pages and GoFundMe accounts because why just beg from one page when you can beg from 5 duhhh.
Side note: Eventually, people start asking questions and those people are IMMEDIATELY shunned and demonized as “haters” trying to take them down. They eventually ensure that these dissenting voices are purged from the community they love by the con-artist spreading insidious lies about them to shut them up and so they don’t interrupt the money flow.
By whining and without even really asking, people who have been conned, jump to the con-artist’s defense and do their fighting for them. The con-artist then just sits back laughing, sipping lattes and dreaming up new tragedies their “fighters” can pay for them.
10) They don’t care who they con. They don’t care if the “mark” has real financial issues and may be giving them their last. It is a con job after all. To be an internet con-artist, you gotta check your morals and decency at the door to get that almighty dollar.
Please understand, con-artists don’t give a damn about their victims no matter how much they gush that they do. They’re not your friends because friends don’t lie to you just to get money. That would make for a pretty shitty friend. Which a con-artist is.
No matter how good the story, nobody's that damn unlucky. Don't fall for their bullshit and watch your backs people! Peace.
